What is the exam?
The exam has two parts:
Knowledge of the Dutch Community (KNS)
This part consists of 30 (out of 100) pictures with a question. (On the exam you'll see the pictures)
Test Spoken Dutch (TGN), which is further sub-divided in:
repeat short phrase
answer short questions
repeat phrase
give the opposite
repeat two short stories.
Of the first part (KNS) one has to give at least 21 correct answers (=70%).
The score is the percentage one answered correct.
Of the second part (TGN) the two parts "repeat phrases" count for most points (together 75%)
"Short questions" and "opposites" each count for 12.5%
The part "repeat two short stories" does not count in the score.
The score for TGN is between 10 and 80 points.
10=no answer was correct, 80=perfect Dutch.
You have to score at least 16 points.
(starting 1st of july 2010 at least 26 points)
Both parts, KNS and TGN, have to be passed. On the exam certificate you'll see the score for both parts.
